Luminary Anthony DeCurtis with Keith Richards on "Goodnight Irene"

The Grammy-Award winners discuss Richards' cut of Lead Belly's American folk classic.

Luminary Anthony DeCurtis (Ph.D. '80, American Literature) has interviewed hundreds of musicians in his outstanding career as a journalist and contributing editor with Rolling Stone magazine.

But this Grammy-Award winner had the pleasure of interviewing legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards in September 2015 in response to Richards’ solo album Crosseyed Heart.

In the interview, Anthony digs deep to discover why Richards recorded Lead Belly’s "Goodnight Irene" for the album, and finds that the British rocker has a strong fondness of American folk music.
